Ginkgo is one of oldest living species of tree originating from China. It has a 5,000-year history of use in China. Found in many ancient texts and still in use in modern Chinese medicine.
It has two main uses which are for circulation and memory retention. By improving circulation, it helps the blood go to the outer and peripheral parts of the body. These are the hands, feet and the head and by improving the circulation to the head this can help with improving cerebral function and ability. The major components found in Ginkgo are flavonoids and terpenoids. It is the terpenoids which help improve circulation by dilating blood vessels which in turn helps improve the availability of area for blood flow. Using Ginkgo in the NUDE MIND bar helps get the other plants in the bar to the area we are focusing on by increasing blood flow circulation.
Some plants have many phytochemicals and many actions resulting from these and some we don’t know yet. It is interesting that a plant can have many actions and uses and some have just a few. That is the art of medicine to understand these actions and uses and know how they interact with the body and mind.
